Given society’s ever increasing need for more human resources in electronics, in 2009 DTU split the School of Telecommunications Engineering off to found the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the mission to train a high-quality workforce and to do research to support the economic development of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, and in particular of Danang.

With the three majors of Electrical Automation, Digital Design, and Telecommunication, the DTU Faculty of Electrical Engineering has, for many years, been a prestigious provider of highly competent and skilled engineers with good knowledge of foreign languages, a passion for their work, soft skills, and a high ability for international integration to the labor market.
With over twenty highly qualified and competent lecturers, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering has made significant contributions to the economic development of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, and to all of Vietnam in general, through training and scientific research. Business highly appraise telecommunications engineers graduated at DTU. Over 90% students found jobs on graduation and presently many DTU alumni get well-paid jobs at Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), EVNTelecom, Military Telecommunications (Viettel), Saigon Postel (S-Fone), Acronic Systems and so on.
DTU’s Telecommunications Engineering major is based on CDIO, the standard format to train engineers worldwide. The university also pays attention to investing in modern facilities, to provide students with the best study environment. Among these, the system of telecommunications practice labs with modern equipment contain spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, logic analyzers, and so on, imported from the US. In June 2017, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering officially started collaboration with Purdue University, a leading university in the US concerning training in engineering and technology, to develop advanced programs in Electrical Engineering and in Mechatronics.
With its student-centered approach, the Faculty cares greatly about professional quality and regularly updating with the latest knowledge and technologies, to provide students with a firm foundation of truly useful knowledge. The practical knowledge and social spirit students acquire during their stay at the university will be their strengths on the journey waiting for them afterwards.
